Why Rescue & Shelter Portraits Matter

Most adopters begin their search online.

They scroll quickly.
They click based on emotion.
They connect through images first.

Quality photography:

  • Helps dogs get noticed faster

  • Shows expression & personality

  • Creation emotional connection

  • Builds trust with potential adopters

  • Gives each dog dignity and presence

A simple portrait can be the difference between being overlooked and being chosen.

Photography Services for Shelters & Rescues

Each month I save limited spots to provide professional rescue and shelter portrait sessions at no cost to approved shelters and rescue organizations.

That includes:

Individual dog portraits
• Calm, patient handling
• Experience working with shy, nervous, or overstimulated dogs
• Edited, web-ready images for adoption listings and social media

There is no session fee to the rescue or shelter.

This work is part of my ongoing commitment to helping dogs find homes.

If you are part of a rescue or shelter and would like more information about scheduling, reach out here.

Sponsor a dog, support a mission

Community Sponsorships

While shelters receive photography at no cost, these sessions still require time, equipment, editing, and resources.

That is where sponsorships come in.

A sponsorship allows an individual, business, or organization to financially support rescue photography sessions.

In simple terms:

A sponsor helps cover the cost.
The rescue receives professional images.
The dogs get better exposure.

Everyone wins. Most importantly, the dogs.

What is a Rescue Photography Sponsorship?

A rescue photography sponsorship is a donation-based contribution that funds professional portrait sessions for adoptable dogs.

Sponsorships help:

  • Expand how many dogs I can photograph each month

  • Increase consistency of sessions

  • Cover editing, equipment, and travel costs

  • Keep rescue photography sustainable long-term

  • Photograph dogs in shelters, rescues & those in foster

  • Toys and an endless supply of treats to keep tails wagging

  • Wear and tear on camera + lighting gear

  • Assistant fees for safety and support

  • Paid promotions for increased visibility

Sponsors may choose to support a single session, a group of dogs, or ongoing work.

Some businesses also choose sponsorships as a way to give back locally and be associated with a positive, community-focused project.

Creating visibility & inspiring adoption because every dog deserves to be seen

Why this mission is so important to me

I’ve been a serial adopter for as long as I can remember. Dogs have always found their way into my life and I’ve never questioned it. They become family, they become everything.

But volunteering at the shelter is what changed things for me.

Because when you’re there, you don’t just see a dog in a kennel… you see what they’re going through. You see the confusion, the stress, the waiting. You see the ones who shut down, and the ones who are trying so hard to be seen.

And I can’t unsee that.

I know what these dogs are in a home. I know who they really are. And I also know that sometimes, the only chance they have at being chosen… is being seen.

That’s where my work comes in, and I believe it can really make a difference.

Photography has the power to pause all of that noise-the kennel, the fear, the overwhelm and show them in a different light. A softer light. A truer one. The one their future family needs to see.

But I can’t do it alone.

This sponsorship program exists so I can give more of these dogs that chance. With support from the community, I can dedicate more time, more sessions, and more resources to photographing shelter pets in a way that helps them stand out—and ultimately, get adopted.

Because they deserve more than waiting.

They deserve to be seen.
